Author: Guruh Buvati On Thursday 28th October 2021,Bomet Governor Dr Hillary Barchok invited Bomet county MCAs for a dinner at his kap James residence.At the residence the invitation was more than a dinner as this was another rendezvous used to scheme the axing of Bomet county public service Board for refusing to tow to the line of Governor Barchok.The meeting was co-chaired by the governor and a MCA from Bomet East.Barchok accused the public service Board for failing to employ "his people" as the list he always forwarded to the board is being rejected.The Governor was also not happy after the board rejected his request to terminate contracts for BOMWASCO staffs and enforcement officers. Olympic Champion Agnes Tirop Found Dead.

Photo courtesy: Agnes Tirop   Kenya’s 5,000m women’s representative to Tokyo Olympics Agnes Tirop is dead. Tirop was on Wednesday October 13 found dead in her house in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County. According to reports, she had stab wounds in the abdomen. Police together with forensic team from Iten police station are currently at the scene. Unconfirmed reports indicate that the heinous act was done by her estranged husband. Athletics Kenya (AK) through president Jackson Tuwei has immediately expressed shock upon confirmation of the sad news, saying Kenya has lost a jewel in the sport. “AK is distraught to learn about the untimely death of World 10,000m bronze medalist Agnes Tirop. Sossion backs Ruto's 2022 bid, lauds his economic model

ODM nominated Mp Wilson Sossion has vowed to back Deputy President William Ruto on his 2022 presidential bid. Sossion who met with the DP on Monday at his home in Karen expressed content with Ruto's 'bottom up' economic model saying its an agenda of equality. The former Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary-General termed Ruto as 'one of the few brave African leaders' to design a pro-common man agenda. While declaring his support for Ruto, Sossion said the 2022 elections will be an economic revolution vote that will change Kenyans lives. "We as Kenyan laborers are with you 100 per cent to make sure you are the next president," he said. Sossion has expressed interest in the Bomet senatorial seat next year.He is seeking to unseat Senator Christopher Langat. Good News To Teacher As Sossion Promise Them Jubilation Against TPD Modules Despite Court Giving It A Go Ahead

Teachers service commission had identified the institutions that will be offering the refresher training program,as they meet the training costs for the modules at a cost of six thousand shillings per year,which will be mandatory for all active teachers. Teachers service commission programme was however challenged in court citing lack of public participation. Wilson Sossion’s Current Bullet Hit Target Likely To Set Teachers Free From TPD

Parliament has hinted at a possible review of the mandate of the Teachers Service Commission to clip its regulatory powers. The National Assembly Committee on Education wants separation of powers, with the TSC only being the employer and a different entity as the regulator. The regulatory agency is yet to be identified. A regulator is a public organisation that imposes and enforces requirements for those entering and in the profession and setting the standard for activities.     Incase the proposal goes through, it will be a big win for former Kenya National Union of Teachers secretary general Wilson Sossion who, during his tenure, was strongly opposed to TSC’s double role as employer and regulator.       Wilson Sossion, who sits in the Education committee, noted the need to have a regulatory agency to end conflict of interest currently witnessed at TSC.       However, critics argue that a legal barrier lies in the efforts to strip off the TSC of ...
