COUNCILOR KIPTINDINYO RUTTOH
Once upon a time in the serene hills of Kalenjin, there lived a man named Julius RUTTOH alias Councillor Kiptindinyo. He was once a prosperous figure in the community, known far and wide for his generosity and unwavering support for local Kalenjin musicians. Whenever they faced hardships, Kiptindinyo was there, ready to extend a helping hand.
Kiptindinyo was a famous politician who served as an Member of County Assembly of Kapsimotwo Ward when Cleophas Lagat was the governor of Nandi County between 2013-2017. He was once dewhipped for allegedly pitching tent in Nyangores ward in Bomet to undermine JAP.
One of his most significant acts of kindness was when he channeled a substantial portion of his resources to empower struggling musicians. Many of them were barely making ends meet, but with Kiptindinyo's assistance, they found hope and stability in their musical careers. His dedication to their success was evident when he organized a fundraising event to buy land for himself, as he had fallen into financial ruin and become among the Mau evictees.
Years passed, and those struggling musicians began to rise to prominence in the music industry. Their fame spread beyond the hills of Kalenjin, and they enjoyed success on a much larger scale. However, something perplexing started to happen. Despite their newfound fame and fortune, they seemed to have distanced themselves from the very man who had been their pillar of support.
Councillor Kiptindinyo, now living a quieter life, often wondered why the musicians he had supported so fervently had seemingly forgotten him. I think he has never expected grand gestures of gratitude, but I think he had hoped for a visit or even a simple message of thanks.
As time went on, the story of Councillor Kiptindinyo and the musicians he had supported became a tale of the complexities of life's journeys. It reminded everyone that relationships and circumstances can evolve, and people may have their reasons for the paths they choose to take. While some may have indeed forgotten, others may still carry a silent debt of gratitude in their hearts.
And so, the hills of Kalenjin continued to sing their songs, echoing the melody of both success and the mysteries of human connections, leaving one to wonder whether those musicians would ever find a way to give back to the man who had once changed their lives.
Hon Guruh Buvati.
