Ngong Ngeno’s Trailblazing Leadership Sparks Kipsigis Nairobi Based Leaders Embrace of Grassroots Engagement.

Hon Johana Ngeno Ngong has successfully mobilized Nairobi-based Kipsigis leaders to engage at the grassroots level and support needy individuals.

In recent moves by Ngong, he has been actively participating in community events within the Kalenjin community, including fundraisers, prompting other less active leaders to join him. This increased involvement has seen leaders from Nairobi attending fundraisers and events in villages every weekend.

Recently, a significant number of leaders visited Ngong's hometown, Emurua Dikirr, to attend a fundraising event for a church, marking the first-ever attendance of political leaders in the area. The fundraiser, held at Kurongurik Primary School to build a PEFA Church, was attended by prominent figures such as Senate Majority Leader and Kericho County Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, Bomet Senator Wakili Hillary Sigei, Chepalungu Constituency MP Hon. Victor Mandazi, Kipkelion East MP Hon. Joseph Cherorot, Kipkelion West MP Hon. Hillary Koskei, and Bomet East MP Hon. Richard Yegon. However, the event turned into a political gathering as some speakers used their speeches to criticize Ngong Ngeno.

In a speech delivered by Ngong Ngeno before the fundraiser, he invited other leaders in Nairobi, reminding them of their absence in his hometown despite his consistent support for their constituents. "Mandazi, you are welcome in Emurua Dikirr to support my people, just as I have been supporting the people of Chepalungu Constituency whenever they call upon me," Ngong Ngeno stated during a fundraising event in Nairobi for Dokiye Byegon's hospital bill, a resident of Chepalungu.

Several other fundraisers and events in Bomet County have also seen significant attendance by Kipsigis leaders, including recent church fundraisers in Bomet and Sotik over the past month.
